Who we are

02

What we collect

Account

Your name and email address from Apple or Google when you sign in, and an account ID.

Profile

The name shown on your profile, your age band, language, time zone and notification settings.

Learning

What you want to learn, your level and preferred style, the courses and lessons made for you, questions you ask about a lesson, quiz answers, progress and revision history.

Purchases

Your plan, subscription status and how many free courses you have used. Apple takes the payment; we never see your card details.

Device and technical

App version, a notification token if you allow notifications, and the technical logs we need to run and secure the service.

We do not sell your information, show ads or track you across other companies’ apps and websites.

03

Why we use it

  • To provide Question Avenue: your account, courses, lessons, revision, progress, audio narration and subscriptions. This is necessary to perform our contract with you.
  • To keep the service safe and working: preventing abuse, checking what is typed for safety, fixing problems and improving the service. This is in our legitimate interests.
  • To meet legal obligations: such as tax and accounting rules, and responding to lawful requests.
  • To send notifications: lesson and revision reminders, only if you allow them. This relies on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time in your iPhone’s Settings.
04

AI-generated content

Question Avenue uses AI to create your courses. To do that, we send what you want to learn, your level and preferences, and the questions you ask about a lesson to our AI providers. When you play a lesson as audio, its text is sent to an AI provider to create the narration.

AI-generated material can be incomplete or wrong. It is for general learning, not professional advice. Check anything important against reliable sources, especially for health, legal or financial decisions.

05

Who processes your information

We use trusted providers to run Question Avenue. They process information for these purposes:

Apple and Google

Sign-in with your Apple or Google account.

Google Firebase

Account authentication and keeping the app secure.

OpenAI

AI that researches, writes and checks your course, checks what you type for safety, answers your lesson questions and reads lessons aloud.

Alibaba Cloud

AI that draws course covers and lesson illustrations.

Apple App Store and RevenueCat

Subscriptions and purchase status. Apple takes the payment.

Expo

Delivering notifications and app updates.

DigitalOcean

Cloud hosting for our servers, database and file storage.

Cloudflare

Hosting and security for this website.

We may also share information where the law requires it, or to protect our users, the service or others.

06

International transfers

Some of our providers process information outside the UK. When that happens, we rely on safeguards recognised by UK law, such as adequacy regulations or approved contract clauses, so your information stays protected.

07

How long we keep it

We keep your account and learning information while your account is open.

When you delete your account, it is closed straight away and you are signed out. We permanently delete your account, courses, progress and files 30 days after your request. We may keep limited records for longer where the law requires. Apple and RevenueCat keep their own purchase records under their own policies.

08

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct or delete your information, to receive a copy of it, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to withdraw consent at any time.

  • Delete your account in the app: Profile, then Account, then Delete account.
  • Anything else, including a copy of your data: email support@questionavenue.com. We may need to confirm it is you, and we respond within the time the law requires.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, or to the data-protection authority where you live.

09

Age

Question Avenue is for people aged 13 or over. When you start, the app asks for your date of birth, works out your age band on your phone and sends us only the band. We do not store your date of birth. Anyone under 13 cannot continue.

10

Security

We encrypt information in transit and limit who can access it. No online service can be completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

11

This website

This website has no sign-in, forms, advertising, analytics or tracking cookies. Our website host processes basic technical information, such as IP address and browser type, to deliver and protect the pages.

12

Changes and contact

We may update this policy when Question Avenue, our providers or the law changes. The “last updated” date above shows when it last changed, and we will let you know about important changes.
